Title: Balancing of an assembled turbocharger core
Post by: Andrew on July 08, 2018, 07:14:27 PM
Please inform us if the Balanset-1 balancing set is appropriate for the balancing of an assembled turbocharger core.

Thank you for your message.
Balanset-1 is a measuring part (electronic device) of the balancing machine. Balanset-1 measure vibration ( amplitude and phase) and calculate balancing weights (mass and angle of mounting place).
For balancing  of an assembled turbocharger core, mechanical part (balancing stand) is required.
If you have a mechanical part, you can use Balanset-1 as a measuring part.

Please inform us if the Balanset-1 can be used for balancing a two plane turbocharger core and also if can calculate the weight that has to be remove. Can the program and manual be in english language?

Balanset-1 can be used for balancing rotors with speed up to 30000 RPM.
If you have mechanical part (stand) where you mount turbocharger core, you can use Balanset-1 as vibration measuring system.
It can calculate the weight that has to be add or remove.

Yes, software and manual are in English.
You can see it also in http://vibromera.com/index.html

Attached you will find the construction that I  do to support and balance a turbocharger core. Please inform me if is going to work with the Balanset-1.

Yes, in  this  "soft bearing" balancing machine  you can use Balanset-1 to balance rotors.
Balanset-1 use influence coefficients method, so is possible to balance rotors of any weights and size. In this metod you need 3 runs - 1 initial run and 2 runs with test weights.
For detail see Step-by-step balancing procedure
https://vibrobalance.com/index.html
Table 1. Step-by-step operations

Note.
You need keep the same (+-10..15%) rotation speed ( RPM ) in every run.
If you use compressed air to rotate rotor it may be some problem.
Maximum RPM for Balanset-1 is about 24000 RPM (400Hz).
In what rotation speed you suppose to balance turbocharger core?

Thank you very much for the answer. The balancing speed is 2500 rpm.

2500 RPM is OK, you can use Balanset-1 up to 30000 RPM.

Please also inform me if:

1.       Balanset-1 work with windows 10 (64 bit Operating system, x64-based processor)

2.       If there is any device for calibrating the system

Yes,  Balanset-1 can work with windows 10 (64 bit Operating system, x64-based processor) and other Windows (XP, Vista,7,8) 32\64 bit

We calibrate Balanset-1 in our test vibration stand with accuracy about 5%.

In the future, in six month or a year how I will calibrate it?

For calibration you can send Balanset in our office. Calibration price is 180Eur, plus shipment.
Or you can use your local certification service.
